The Whopper of Digital Music Downloads

http://davematthewsband.shop.musictoday.com/Product.aspx?cp=1_5575_8857&pc=DMDD16

I just bought this baby --- it's a $49.99 digital music download. Crazy? Not quite what you might think. Let's spec it out:
  • 3 consecutive full-concert recordings totalling 55 tracks, over 5hrs 20min of music!
  • Lossless FLAC encoding, aka CD-quality
  • No Digital Rights Management (DRM) that would prevent portable-device use, or burning
  • Downloadable CD labels, tray inserts and booklet
  • That means we're talking roughly $0.90/track.
Not bad for some real hi-fi digital download goodness...

Amazon MP3 Store

I bought my first MP3 from Amazon's Digital downloads store today in 256kbps vbr mp3. It's the Slip's Even Rats track for $0.89. It's from Guitar Hero I's Bonus Tracks, and it's awesome.

In case you're wondering, it sounds great! And no DRM!

Full of id3 metadata too, so your music play will know what's going on.

tiny cities

I took an overnight flight from las vegas to philly last night. the coolest thing was that the electrified city strips seemed to bubble up out of the earth's crust like they were the yummy marshmallow-lava center of an earth-cookie.
